Don't get caught up in those claims. Ferrocerium Rods are No Different from eachother, other than style and price! If you want to have a reliable fire starting firesteel rod just buy any of them, they all do exactly the same thing ands that's throw sparks that are VERY HOT!

What I have are your standard economical rods that will do the same job just like every rod out there, expensive ones and cheap ones. Just choose the size and if you want one with a lanyard or not.

The Lanyard is a piece of High Quality Marine Grade Shock Cordage. Same materials used on Kayaks and tiedowns. This Lanyard design is to secure the rod when the tip is inserted into a firesteel holder and stretched back over the tip, or even through your molle webbing and stretched back over the tip. Or whatever you want to secure it with.

There are 2 sizes to choose from. 5/16" x 3.125" , 3/8" x 4" diameter by length.
