Since the handle and guard do not always line up straight from the factory it is very easy to correct the issue for a nice fit. When I make the sheaths I make sure all of the knife hardware is aligned and tightened prior to pressing the sheath into its final shape. The easiest way I have found to align the hardware is to loosen the nut so the parts can move freely, install into the new sheath so your parts can settle in the impressions made by my knife and tighten the pommel nut. Each knife may vary so you might have to do a little bit of extra adjusting of your hardware outside of the sheath. However 99% of the knives out there are lined up properly, but sometimes there are knives that leave the factory off center that needs to be realigned.
